It’s a less known fact that
carpentering is the largest construction trade. According to the statistics it
is about 32% of all carpenters who are self employed. Job opportunities should
be best for those with the most training and skills. It requires between 3 to 4
years acquiring on-job training and classroom instructions to become a skilled
carpenter.
Carpentering is a skilled
based profession through which one can earn his living. Basically carpenter
works with wood. There are lot of work which a carpenter do such as layout,
construct, erect, install, repair, remodel, renovate, temporary fixtures and

Carpenters perform all
interior and exterior finish work and are able to interpret blueprints for any
architectural building. A skilled carpenter must also coordinate and schedule
work with other trades. The use of basic
carpenter tools, optical equipments, lasers, mechanical tools, rigging and
welding is also needed. Carpenter may need to work in all weather conditions whether
he get work inside a building or outside. Carpenters often require prolonged
standing, climbing, kneeling and squatting. The work which a carpenter performs
is physically demanding and may be performed in awkward situations. A good
carpenter must be able to travel and have the ability to work in flexible
hours.
An apprentice carpenter
works under the supervision of an experienced carpenter, learning necessary
skills through on-job training. This training covers blueprint reading,
fundamental carpentry skills, mathematics and construction safety. Apprentices
are paid during the period they are working. They are allowing for an income
while receiving an education. Working as an apprentice requires a high school
diploma and no special training certificate. Just for those who want to join
need to have strength, stamina and hand-eye coordination.
An apprentice carpenter is
someone who is training to be a fully qualified carpenter. They learn the trade
by working alongside carpenters who are fully trained and extensive experience
as a carpenter. Some of the tasks which they are allowed to do includes reading
