Culture Of Apprenticeships And Traineeships

In 1985, the Australian government introduced traineeship program. These programs were introduced to accompaniment and support the apprenticeships programs which are already in existence from some time. Traineeship jobs are gaining more and more popularity in the continent of Australia. It is never too late to broaden your skills. Most of the individuals are beginning their career with apprenticeships and traineeship program in different trade.

The trainees can be retained after some sort of time for a small period after which the apprenticeships employer recognize whether more work will be available or not or if there is lack of available work on the workplace.


When it comes to traineeship jobs, the period may vary and it would be generally between 12 months to two year. The terms of training is generally decided by the state training services and it depends on the type of certificate and qualification. The trainees are at liberty to take the instruction either in fulltime or in part time basis.

 In some cases trainees are able to complete their competency based work units on the work place itself without any training, in such cases trainers will visit their workplace for their assessment and further guidance and can take feedback from their respective business associates as well. Trainees can anytime choose such employment option or decide to go another ways. In both the cases there is win-win situation for trainee and trainer both.

All that is done by the individuals who are planning to kick start a career in any particular field should enroll in such programs to increase their chances of getting job.
